Dinner Under the Oaks

Arts Outreach Board Member Susie Jones graciously hosted Dinner Under the Oaks
beneath the magnificent oak trees behind her home.  The complete menu with recipe links

After three months of extensive tasting, the winning wines selected were:

Crawford Family Tin Shack Chardonnay
Hillard Bruce Sun Pinot Noir
Star Lane Astral Cabernet Sauvignon

Throughout the evening, Arts Outreach students and alumni played the piano, sang, and performed.  I wish I had done a better job capturing all of the talent, but at least this gives you a ten-second sample of the amazing kids that have benefitted from Arts Outreach.  Performing here is Chelsea Chaput, who participated in multiple Arts Outreach Summer Theatre programs.

As I wrote in my previous post about Finding the Best Wine, I was asked this past March to donate a dinner to Arts Outreach that would raise $10,000 to provide art, music and theatre to 3,000 children in the Santa Ynez Valley.  We far exceeded our goal, and the dinner was a tremendous success.  

This dinner would not have been possible without Susie Jones, who graciously donated her home to host the dinner so that 100% of the money raised would go directly to Arts Outreach.  I also owe an enormous thank you to all of the patrons, volunteers, performers, and workers who donated their time and talent to make this a magical night.  

I will eventually get the recipes posted on the blog for everything listed on the menu.
